Getting There

Going Further literally will take you further as we go offshore mainland New Zealand to Great Barrier Island. (90kms from Auckland) Great Barrier is Aotea, the historic “gateway” to Aotearoa. Getting there is part of the journey you are on, a pilgrimage to go further with Jesus.

Everyone will be taking the boat there and back. Catching the boat is a great way to start this pilgrimage. It takes you right into the Karaka Bay amongst islands and is a great way to see the Hauraki Gulf and arrive at the Barrier along with those who will be with you for the week.

  1. First get yourself to Auckland if you are from out of town. Book as soon as possible to score best value plane fares.
  2. A boat is booked by Going Further to leave downtown ferry terminal (bottom of Queen St)at 3pm on Monday 30th Jan.  Buses and trains arrive at Britomart Transport Centre nearby.
  3. For those arriving at Auckland airport, you will need to have arrived by 1.30pm at the latest on Monday to give you time to catch the bus into town.

Getting Home

We have arranged for the charter boat from Orama jetty arriving in Auckland on early Sunday afternoon 5th Feb. Arrival time approx 3pm in downtown Auckland ferry terminal. For those leaving from Auckland airport – the earliest departure on Sunday 6th would be 5:30pm.
